How NOT to handle an email marketing unsubscribe
We were trying to unsubscribe from an email marketing campaign today and we were met with a terrible way to handle an unsubscribe:
Sooooo, what do we have here:
- We couldn’t unsubscribe without telling them something – (Let me out please!)
- It tells me I’m on “Website Mailing List”, that’s helpful…not!
- One of the choices is “we no longer have access to email?” – (Um, how did we get this to unsubscribe from an EMAIL in the first place?)
- Not sure why “Can you please let us know why you are unsubscribing” is a radio button, what are we supposed to tell them?
If someone wants to unsubscribe from your email marketing list, don’t be offended, just let them out of it and hope that they follow you on Twitter, Facebook or LinkeIn!
